Palawan is The Lone Province in the Country with NO Earthquake!
Yes, it’s true! The reason behind this fact is because Palawan was once part of the Asian mainland which separated 100 million years ago. Geologists consider Palawan as a microcontinent.  Palawan rests on continental rocks which extend 30 km deep as compared to a volcanic island or regular islands whose foundation only reaches 15 km deep. It also has no active faultlines or deep trenches around it. The other  Philippine islands rest on the Philippine Mobile Belt so it’s moving gradually northward causing tremors and earthquakes.
