Mothers are Queens. It may sound clichéd but it’s every bit as true. We’ve all been so accustomed to her being around and in charge of the affairs that we’ve not noticed that it actually holds true; her being a Queen.
What does the Queen do? Here are a few things the queen does:
“She’s the head of the State”.
Here you go. Now you’re thinking “Yes, my mother is in charge of our house, she has always been”.
“She’s a symbol of stability, control and is someone you always look for in times of uncertainty and unrest”.
Remember the times you were unemployed or upset or your relationship wasn’t working out or a certain family problem was going out of hand and you thought everything was going downhill and life was miserable and wasn’t going to be good ever? Who do you think was the most calm, despite being enormously under pressure? Yes, your mother. She was the one who you always looked for, and you still do, in times of difficulty. She’s the anchor that holds everything together, she’s that life jacket that doesn’t let you sink to the bottom of hopelessness. She’s the one that keeps you afloat amidst all this.
“She knows everything that comes about the country”
Oh yeah she’s always known what you were up to even though she doesn’t receive a daily red box full of documents like a H.M The Queen. You may not like to share with her but she knows. She knows what are the reasons behind those tantrums, those “not hungry mom” shouts, those sleepless nights, those bubbly giggles and dances around the house. She’s known it all, always.
“She’s the face of the country, she represents the country in times of celebration and sorrow”.
Your mother has always been that face. You are known in the family by the name of your mother mostly. Everyone in your family knows that behind those good manners and chivalry is you mother. It’s her that has taught you how to be brave in times of difficulty and always hold your chin up. She’s the one who’s taught you how to celebrate, how to be genuinely happy and live in the world without being bothered by anything while being sensitive as well.
“She hosts different parties and gatherings”
When was the last time since you moved out or got married that you threw as good a party as your mother always threw, seemingly, so effortlessly? Never.
How does she do all this so easily and gracefully? Because She’s The QUEEN.
I personally have learnt so much from my mother. She’s the epitome of the word SELFLESS, she has always put us and our family first. She’s the definition of the word “HARD WORK”.
I always feel that her job is so unappreciated while she’s the reason I am what I am.
So this Mother’s Day and in every single day, let be no word be unsaid and appreciate what she does, what she’s always done and love her with all you’ve got while you can.
“Looking back, I might not have looked like I was taking the right path, but oddly, the things you taught me have stuck with me for my entire life. They are very much a part of who I am today. You did the most important work. You changed my life.
Thank you, my Queen Momma.“
